SP Jain Executive MBA Survey 2020 Insights

In the survey, one of the key findings was that management education at an executive level must evolve to incorporate a global outlook. The survey suggests that MBA courses must train students to be effective at crisis management and intuitive to think and act on a global scale. 90% of the participants of the survey placed importance on including topics such as Business Acumen, Career Adaptation, Strategic Thinking, Value Creation and Entrepreneurship in the MBA syllabus.

SP Jain has used the insights from this survey to develop a new curriculum for its internationally-recognised Executive MBA program. The new EMBA curriculum now includes topics like Leadership and Cross-cultural Management, Change Management, and Corporate Governance and Ethics. The curriculum also lends an increased focus upon applied projects and soft (employability) skills, which has proven to benefit students and their organisations.

SP Jain Executive MBA Survey 2020 Participants

SP Jain ensured that it had a diverse pool of more than 130 participants for this survey. These not only included the current students and alumni of the School but also its leaders and members of the Industry Advisory Boards across SP Jain's campuses in Dubai, Sydney and Singapore. Several senior executives and experts from global corporations such as Amazon, DHL, Landmark, Microsoft and UAE Exchange also participated in the survey. The alumni and students interviewed were primarily managers/senior managers representing the aviation, banking and finance, consultancy, entertainment and media, healthcare, oil and gas, manufacturing, services and shipping sectors.

Nitish Jain (President, SP Jain) said, "We believe strongly in empowering our students to lead real change and deliver lasting impact that adds value for their organisations. Our classroom consists of students from around the globe; the program participants have the chance to work in global teams, form strong cross-cultural connections and understand global business practices through the shared experiences of their classmates." In 2021, the program attracted students from 16 different countries, such as India, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Philippines, Denmark, Nepal, UAE, the Netherlands and the US.

Dr Gary Stockport (Dean – Executive MBA, SP Jain) commented, "We are committed to providing education that evolves continuously in response to changing industry needs. Our renewed EMBA curriculum reflects a strong understanding of the market and industry standards, giving our students an edge when competing for global jobs."

The findings of the SP Jain Executive MBA Survey 2020 have been featured in leading news publications and education portals such as The Hindu, Financial Express, BW Education, Edex Live, Shiksha, Collegedunia, Collegedekho and more.
