What happens when your plans for a celebration go awry due to an unprecedented crisis? Do you cancel the plans you had carefully worked on, or do you take the celebrations up a notch by making it a grand virtual fiesta with excited participants from around the world? The SPJ Alumni Relations Team opted for the latter and recently organised the SPJ Alumni Fiesta 2020 – a dynamic cultural event that showcased the diverse talents of the global SPJ alumni community.

It was a big surprise for me when my name was called by our beloved Dean, Dr. Balakrishna Grandhi, for winning the Global Achievement Award during our Virtual Graduation Ceremony 2020. I knew beforehand that I was part of the Dean’s List from the Consulting Management stream, but the Global Achievement Award was an unexpected and thoroughly pleasant surprise!

Over the last few months, medical authorities around the world have warned us that people with low immunity and underlying diseases are more vulnerable to the novel coronavirus. Rakesh KP is an SP Jain Executive MBA (EMBA) alumnus from the Class of 2009 and his daughter, Anushka Rakesh, enrolled in SP Jain’s tri-city Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in 2018. Ritansh Jain, hailing from Rajasthan, had completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. He wanted to pursue his postgraduate studies in the field of luxury and chose SP Jain School of Global Management and MIP Politecnico di Milano’s Master in Global Luxury Goods and Services Management program (Class of 2018). He now has an exciting role as a Luxury and Fashion PR Executive at Amigos Communications, a media and news company, in Mumbai. We caught up with Ritansh to learn how the program helped him develop the skills essential for his dynamic work.
