We caught up with our alumnus, Rachit Chandra (GMBA’13), getting to know his success story. Rachit is currently working as the Deputy General Manager – Human Resources with Samsung Electronics. Unilever, the Anglo-Dutch major, exports products with a “Made in the UAE” label and has built a Dh1 billion factory in December 2017 dedicated to personal care. Personal Care is Unilever’s largest product segment, generating approximately €20.17bn or 38 per cent of total turnover in 2016. The company, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, manufactures personal care brands including Vaseline, Sunsilk, and Tresemme, as well as food and beverage brands such as, Lipton, Bovril and Ben & Jerry’s.

The mystery of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) unveiled in my eyes as I immersed in the SP Jain Global Learning. From desert to city of endless possibilities, it is heartening to see UAE initiatives that improves the prosperity, convenience and ultimately, the happiness of people. The government created and sustained an efficient social and economic system that has not only benefited its own citizens, but also people from all corners of the globe.

The Global Immersion Project (GIP) is a unique, creative and collaborative industry interface project initiative undertaken by the students of our Global MBA program, where we deploy our students with select reputed organisations in Singapore. Students are assigned a Business Challenge with the theme “Growth, Innovation and Strategy”, and at the end of their project, they provide strategic recommendations to address the business challenges under study. These projects help encourage the strategic decision-making capability amongst our students in real-life business scenarios.

Shivani Naik Shah is an SP Jain alumnus from the Global MBA class of 2014. Working as an advisor to the Bureaucrats of Government of India on progressive initiatives and reforms like Make in India and Swachh Bharat with a BIG4 company (KPMG), Shivani has also been winning accolades at numerous beauty pageants, having recently won the Mrs. India Queen of Substance 2018.
