The Undergraduate Certificate of Data Science is designed to provide foundational knowledge, skills and their application at an Undergraduate certificate level in the field of Information Technology.
The course covers the following four units from Year 1 of the Bachelor of Data Science course:

The Undergraduate Certificate of Data Science involves significant practical training where you will learn to write code that solves common data-related problems.
Have a foundational understanding of data science and the techniques for data analysis, including programming and responding to queries and tasks.
Develop inquiry and quantitative skills to solve mathematical problems and data sets, and demonstrate skills to develop computer programs to dissect data.
Arrive at reliable, well-structured and innovative solutions for data interpretation.
Collaborate effectively to design programs for data analysis and prepare and present technical reports on methodology, analysis and solutions.
Apply foundational, theoretical and technical knowledge and skills to provide responsible data solutions for a broad set of identified business scenarios
Your assessment will include practical exercises, individual reports/project report, building and interpreting data sets and databases, group project report, presentation for business decision-making, and mid-term and final exams.

All applicants are expected to have completed a minimum of 12 years of schooling demonstrated by one or more of the following:
In lieu of the above, completion of a minimum of 11 years of schooling for the nine Commonwealth of International States (CIS) countries subject to a minimum CGPA score of 4.00 out of 5.00 issued by the National Board in these countries.
All applicants must have completed their education as detailed above in English and must provide certified evidence to the School.
Applicants who have not completed their most recent education qualifications in English are required to take any of the following recognised formal English language tests and obtain currently valid minimum scores as below:

As part of the final stage of applicant evaluation, all shortlisted applicants will be required to write two essays and undertake a personal interview with a member of the School's selection committee at the School's campus or via Skype/Zoom. The essays and interview are designed to assess your communication skills, aptitude and knowledge.
Approximately a week after the evaluation interview, you will be notified about your result in writing by the Admission’s Office.
