Learning Outcomes


On successful completion of SP Jain's Bachelor of Data Science (BDS), you graduate with an Australian undergraduate degree and the skills, knowledge and their application that validate the following learning outcomes:

1. Knowledge of Data Science and Associated Analytics Become equipped with an in-depth understanding of data science and the techniques for analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to data to respond to queries and tasks. 
2. Problem-Solving and Decision Making Apply data modelling methods and interpret descriptive and referential statistics for various quantitative data. 
3. Creativity and Innovation

Undertake problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills to evaluate and arrive at clear, reliable, well-structured solutions from the analysis of data and discuss the implications for the stakeholder.

4. Teamwork Collaborate effectively with others to design programs and apply various data analysis methodologies to data sets to prepare output and solutions.
5. Intercultural Competence/Communication i) Understand and recognise diversity to communicate effectively in international and cross-cultural contexts. 

ii) Prepare a technical report on methodology, analysis and solutions in writing and present ideas and key issues in a clear and convincing manner.
6. Global Citizenship/Ethics (Collaborate, Negotiate and Resolve Conflicts) i) Explain the ethical and privacy implications of managing (big) data. Apply theoretical and technical knowledge and skills to provide socially and ethically responsible data solutions with accountability. 

ii) Demonstrate the ability to critically assess the broader impact of data science on society and the principles of fairness, accountability and transparency and shared ethical values. 

iii) Collaborate responsibly with others to produce deliverables that are appropriate for audiences of different socio-economic groups and for different businesses.
